Press Parking
Section 11.1 through 11.8 of the Police Code of the City and County of San Francisco which regulates the use of this working press vehicle parking pass. The photographer accepting and using this working press vehicle parking pass expressly agrees:
1. To assume all risks.
2. To abide by directions of officers where this pass is presented.
3. Possession of this pass will not entitle entry to restricted areas if such entry interferes with the duties of fire and police personnel.
4. That this pass will be used only by the person to whom it is issued, and to be used only on official newsgathering assignments.
5. This pass is the property of the San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association and is subject to revocation.
6. This pass must be surrendered upon demand or upon any change of employment.
7. Valid vehicle press card shall be displayed in the front windshield in such a manner as to be plainly visible.
8. Violators will be subject to a citation and/or revocation of the working press vehicle parking pass.
California Penal Code 409.5. Police authority to close area during calamity.
(a) Whenever a menace to the public health or safety is created by a calamity such as flood, storm, fire, earthquake, explosion, accident or other disaster, officer of the California Highway Patrol, police departments, sheriff's office, any officer or employee of the Department of Foresty designated a peace officer by subdivision (f) of Section 830.3, and any officer or employee of the Department of Parks and Recreation designated a peace office by subdivison (i) of Section 830.3 may close the area where the menace exists for the duration thereof by means of ropes, markers or guards to any and all persons not authorized by such officer to enter or remain within the closed area. If such a calamity creates an immediate menace to the public health, the local health officer may close the area where the menace exists pursuant to the conditions which are set forth above in this section.
(b) Officers of the California Highway Patrol, police departments, sheriff's office, officers of the Department of Forestry designed as peace officers by subdivision (f) of Section 830.3 may close the immediate area surrounded any emergency field command post or any other command post activated for the purpose of abating any calamity enumerated in this section or any riot or other civil disturbance to any and all unauthorized persons pursuant to the conditions which are set forth in this section whether or not such field command post or other command post is located near to the actual calamity or riot or other civil disturbances.
(c) Any unauthorized person who willfully and knowingly enters an area closed pursuant to subdivision (a) or (b) and who willfully remains within such area after receiving notice to evacuate or leave shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
(d) Nothing in this section shall prevent a duly authorized representative or any news service, newspaper, or radio or television station or network from entering the areas closed pursuant to this section - Amended. Stas 1977. Chap 687.

New press photographers parking guidelines at SFO:
All photographers will be directed to use the short-term parking garage for up to two hours if their vehicles meet the 6-foot, 10-inch height clearance restriction. Media parking will be validated by the Bureau of Communications (during business hours) or the Airport Duty Manager (after hours or on nights and weekends).
Those media vehicles with height larger than 6-feet, 10-inches (or with large antenna) will be permitted to park curbside on the upper, departure level between the South and International or the International and North Terminals if and only if prior permission is given by the Bureau of Communications in advance with specific information on the make, model, color and license number of any vehicle they wish to park at curbside. If parked at curbside, vehicles must remain with attendant and are subject to inspection.
