:: SBA Presents 1st Federal Disaster Loan Checks To Small Businesses Hurt By Freeze  Sacramento, CA –
Carlos G. Mendoza, District Director of the U. S. Small Business
Administration’s (SBA) Fresno District Office, today presented disaster
assistance checks to five small businesses for which SBA has approved
loans for $352,600 to help them overcome the financial harm caused by
the freeze. “These checks represent SBA’s commitment to helping
these small businesses and are the first Federal disaster assistance
provided to freeze victims,” Mendoza said. SBA declared 40
California counties a freeze disaster just two days after receiving
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s request for SBA assistance.
